For hormone and weight care, the honest answer is yes, and here is why. What changes your outcome is the bloodwork and the follow-up, not the handshake. You get the same 56-marker panel, the same two clinicians reading it, and the same monitoring whether we meet at the office or on a video call. What you skip is the drive down Dale Mabry and the waiting room. If you would rather come in, plenty of our Tampa patients do.
No, and plenty of patients never do. Most of our care runs by telehealth, with our traveling phlebotomy team coming to your home for the blood draw, or you using a Quest or Labcorp near you. Being based at 502 S Dale Mabry means your clinicians are licensed in Florida and know the area, so if you want to sit down in person, the door is open. It is your call, and you can switch either way.
Wherever is easiest for you, which for most people is their own kitchen table. Our traveling phlebotomy team comes to your home at a time you pick and draws the full 56-marker panel there. If you would rather, any Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp location can run it instead. We do not draw blood at the office, so you are never stuck in a lab waiting room on our account.
Then we tell you that, plainly. If your bloodwork and your symptoms do not point to low testosterone or a hormone problem, we are not going to invent one so we can start you on a prescription. Your clinician walks you through what the panel actually shows and, where it makes sense, points you toward what to look at instead. You are paying for an honest read of your health, and that is what you get.
Men’s TRT and women’s BHRT start at $99 a month, and medical weight loss starts at $199 a month. Your real number depends on your plan, your medication, and your dose, so your clinician confirms it with you before anything starts, not after. The fee covers your care, your lab review, and ongoing monitoring; it does not buy a guaranteed prescription, because that stays a clinical decision. No surprise bills.
We do not bill insurance, and that is deliberate. You can pay with an HSA or FSA card for eligible services. Keeping insurance out of it is part of how we hold prices steady and spend your appointment on your labs and your plan, instead of on billing codes and prior authorizations.
It depends on you and your program, and we will not promise you a date on a website. Some people notice a shift in the first few weeks; for others it takes a couple of months, and the labs tell the real story before your energy does. That is what the eight-week follow-up is for: we look at how you feel and what your bloodwork says, then adjust. After that, we generally recheck labs around every six months.
Some are, and some are compounded. Compounded medications are prepared for you by a licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy and are not FDA-approved for the specific uses discussed here, which is exactly why the evaluation and bloodwork come first. Your clinician tells you what you are taking, why it was chosen, and what it does and does not do, before you start. Nothing is dispensed from our office; your prescription ships to you.
Yes. We offer bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT) for women working through perimenopause and menopause, built on the same 56-marker panel and read by the same clinicians who handle every program here. Women are also candidates for medical weight loss and several of our other programs. What is right for you is decided during your evaluation, around your symptoms and your labs.
Dr. Akhil Patel or Collin Dees, PA-C, the same two clinicians from your first call through every follow-up. You are not handed to a call center or a rotating roster, and you are not re-explaining your history to a stranger each visit. Dr. Patel is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who did his residency right here at USF in Tampa; Collin is our lead provider and the person most patients talk to first.
