How long between workouts should I take?
How much time should pass before we hit the same muscle again and how do we know when it is time to hit it again?
This poses for a great question.
If you are training a specific muscle this lets me know that you’re most likely looking for a cosmetic change. With that being said there are two ways to approach this.
The answer will change depending on the amount of volume one gives to the muscle group. Let’s say for example you’re training biceps. If you do 1-3 sets on your biceps, they can likely be trained 3 times a week without overtraining being an issue.
Now if you try and kill your biceps with 12-15 sets, you most certainly will only want to train them once a week to allow for proper recovery.
Remember, the real growing comes through optimal recovery.
